Private Transfers and Tours from Spain to Morocco Spain to Morocco and Morocco to Spain in one exclusive vehicle, with the ferry and your tickets included
From your door in Spain to your door in Morocco, in one private vehicle with the same driver all the way. We collect you in any city, drive to Tarifa, cross the Strait of Gibraltar with you on the ferry and carry on to Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes or Marrakech. It works the other way too, from Morocco to Spain, and it can be the first day of a tour. The ferry, your tickets and every cost of the trip are in the price.
Fourteen kilometres of sea separate Spain from Morocco, and most travellers cross them in pieces: a taxi or a bus to the port, a ticket bought at the counter, a walk up the ramp with the luggage and another taxi on the other side. A private transfer with Drive Morocco turns those pieces into one journey. The vehicle that collects you at your door in Spain drives onto the ferry with you, comes off in Tangier and carries on to the address you gave us in Morocco.
It is a service for people who want the day to be simple. Everything is arranged before you leave home: one price for the vehicle, the ferry and the tickets already booked, and a driver from a team with more than 12 years of experience in private transport.
The same journey works in both directions. From Spain to Morocco at the start of a holiday, from Morocco to Spain when it is time to go home, or both, with the days in between planned as a private tour.

Pickup Cities in Spain and the Road to the Ferry
We collect you anywhere in Spain. These are the cities travellers ask for most, with the distance and the driving time to the port of Tarifa.
Driving time to the port of Tarifa without stops. Add about one hour of ferry, plus boarding and the border. Any other town in Spain is quoted the same way: just ask.
Andalusia, the short road
Málaga, Marbella, Cádiz, Seville, Granada and Córdoba are the natural gateways to Morocco. The road to Tarifa takes between an hour and a quarter and about four hours, so from most of them you can leave after breakfast and be in Tangier in the afternoon.
Madrid and the centre
From Madrid the motorway runs south through Córdoba and Seville, about eight hours to the port. It is a full day in the vehicle, which is why the departure time, the breaks and the sailing are fixed with you in advance.
The Mediterranean coast
Alicante, Valencia and Barcelona follow the coast past Murcia and Granada before turning towards the Strait. These are the longest drives, from seven to more than twelve hours, and we plan them stage by stage with you.

Málaga to Tangier Transfer
An exclusive Málaga to Tangier transfer, door to door, with the ferry and your tickets included
Málaga is the pickup city travellers choose most, so it has its own page, with the full detail of the journey, and its own booking request: pick the date and one of the two vehicles and send it online.
Driving times in Morocco in normal traffic, from the port where the ferry arrives.
Where the Road Goes After the Ferry
The ferry leaves you in the centre of Tangier. From there the same vehicle takes you to any city in Morocco. These are the ones travellers from Spain ask for most.
The port is at the foot of the medina, so your hotel or riad is a few minutes away. Tangier is worth more than a night in transit: the kasbah above the Strait, the cafés of the old international city and, a short drive west, Cape Spartel and the Caves of Hercules, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean.
Tetouan and the Mediterranean
An hour east of Tangier, Tetouan has a white medina listed by UNESCO and a strong Andalusian memory. A few kilometres away the Mediterranean coast begins: Martil, Cabo Negro, M'diq and Fnideq, with long beaches and seafront hotels that fill up in summer.
Chefchaouen
Two hours from the port, in the Rif mountains, the blue city is the place most travellers from Spain want to see first. The road climbs through hills of olive trees and the medina is small enough to explore on foot in an afternoon, which makes it a natural first or last night of a trip.
Asilah
Forty-five minutes south of Tangier on the Atlantic, Asilah is a whitewashed town inside old ramparts, with painted walls, a quiet beach and fish restaurants. It works as a calm first stop after the crossing or as a half day on the way to Rabat.
The capital is about two and a half to three hours from the port by motorway. The Kasbah of the Udayas, the Hassan Tower and the gardens along the river make it an easy city to visit, and it is a common stop for business travellers and for families breaking the drive south.
Three and a half to four hours from Tangier, Casablanca is the business capital of Morocco and the home of the Hassan II Mosque, built over the ocean. Many travellers from Spain come here for work, and others use it as the middle point of a tour between the north and Marrakech.
Four to four and a half hours from the port, Fes holds the largest medina in the country, with its tanneries, its craftsmen and one of the oldest universities in the world. From Spain it is often reached with a night in Chefchaouen on the way, and many tours add Volubilis and Meknes.
The red city is six to seven hours from Tangier, so most travellers reach it in stages, with stops in Rabat or Casablanca. The Jemaa el-Fna square, the souks, the gardens and the Atlas mountains behind the city are the classic end of a tour that starts in Spain.
On the Atlantic, at the end of the coast road, Essaouira is a fortified port town with a medina listed by UNESCO, a long windy beach and a slow rhythm. It is also the heart of argan country: the oil is pressed in the cooperatives around the town, together with the rare oil of the prickly pear seed.
Three Vehicles That Cross the Strait
We make the journey between Spain and Morocco with these three Mercedes and with no other vehicle. Choose by the size of your group and your luggage.
The crossing can be the first day of your trip. The vehicle that collects you in Spain stays with you through Morocco and the tour ends in the city you choose, or it runs the other way: it starts in Morocco and finishes at your door in Spain.
Or add the crossing to one of our set tours
Our four multi-day tours of Morocco can also begin in Spain. One starts in Tangier, a few minutes from the ferry, and another follows the Atlantic from Casablanca to Essaouira and Agadir. We add the pickup in Spain and the crossing to the tour you choose and quote that part for you.
The tour does not have to go straight to the ferry. The same vehicle and the same driver can take you through Barcelona, Seville, Córdoba, Granada or the Costa del Sol first, for as many days as you like, and then cross to Morocco. In the custom tour form the cities of Spain come first and the Moroccan ones after: check the ones you want to see and we plan the stages. As in Morocco, hotels, meals and monument tickets in Spain are yours to book and pay.
Every tour from Spain is planned and quoted for you. The price covers the vehicle, the driver, the ferry and your ferry tickets, fuel and tolls. Hotels, riads, meals and activities are yours to book and pay, and we are glad to recommend them. In Morocco, a local guide is a premium extra on request.
Two Seas in One Trip: the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and Essaouira
Morocco is the only country in Africa with a coast on both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. A tour from Spain can follow the two of them, from the beaches of the north to the ramparts of Essaouira.
The Mediterranean
Tetouan, Martil, Cabo Negro and M'diq
Where the seas meet
Cape Spartel, west of Tangier
The northern Atlantic
Asilah, Rabat and Casablanca
The middle coast
El Jadida, Oualidia and Safi
The end of the road
Essaouira, argan and prickly pear country
The trip starts where the ferry arrives. East of Tangier the road reaches the Mediterranean at Tetouan and runs along a coast of calm water and wide beaches: Martil, Cabo Negro and M'diq. Back in Tangier, Cape Spartel marks the point where that sea ends and the Atlantic begins, and from there the coast road goes south for hundreds of kilometres.
The Atlantic side changes with every stage. Asilah is white and quiet, Rabat is a capital beside a river mouth, Casablanca is the big city. Further south come El Jadida, a Portuguese fortress town with its underground cistern, the lagoon of Oualidia, known for its oysters, and Safi, the town of potters.
Essaouira is the reward at the end. Its ramparts face the ocean, the fishing boats are painted blue and the medina is small, bright and easy to walk. The countryside around it is the land of the argan tree, which grows almost nowhere else in the world: the women's cooperatives on the road into town press its nuts into the oil used for cooking and for the skin. The same region produces the oil of the prickly pear seed, one of the most prized in cosmetics. Your driver knows where to stop if you want to see how both are made and buy them at the source.
A coast tour is planned like any other tour from Spain: we draw the stages with you, you choose where to sleep, and the same vehicle and driver stay with you from the ferry to Essaouira. From there you can fly home, carry on to Marrakech or Agadir, or drive back north for the crossing to Spain.
The Ferry Crossing from Tarifa to Tangier Ville
The shortest sea route between Europe and Africa, and the only part of the journey where nobody drives.
At the port of Tarifa
Tarifa is the southernmost town of mainland Europe, and on a clear day Morocco is in sight from the quay. Your driver arrives in time for boarding, with the ticket of the vehicle and the tickets of every passenger already issued. You show your passport and the vehicle boards with your luggage inside.
On board
The crossing takes about one hour. The vehicle travels on the car deck and you go up to the passenger lounge, with seats, a café and the view of the two coasts. Keep your passports and valuables with you: the car deck is closed during the crossing.
Arriving in Tangier Ville
The ferry docks at Tangier Ville, the port at the foot of the medina, not at the commercial port of Tanger Med, far outside the city. After the border checks the vehicle drives off the ramp and straight into Tangier.
When the wind is strong the ferry between Tarifa and Tangier can be suspended. That is not your fault: we wait until it sails, at no extra cost to you.

A valid passport for every passenger
You leave Spain at Tarifa and enter Morocco at the port of Tangier Ville, so every passenger needs a valid passport, children included. Whether you also need a visa depends on your nationality: check it before you book.
From Seville or Málaga the road to the ferry takes a morning. From Madrid, Valencia or Barcelona it is a long day at the wheel, so we agree the departure time, the breaks and the sailing with you before you travel.
July, August, Easter and the end of the year are the busiest weeks on the Strait. Send us your dates as early as you can, so we can plan the vehicle and the sailing that suit you best.
Spain to Morocco by Private Transfer: Your Questions
What travellers ask before they book the journey across the Strait.
Can you pick us up anywhere in Spain, airports included?
Yes. We collect you at any address in Spain: your home, a hotel, an airport, a train station or a port. Málaga, the Costa del Sol, Seville, Cádiz, Granada and Madrid are the cities we are asked for most, and any other town is quoted the same way. Give us your flight number and your landing time and your driver meets you in arrivals at Málaga, Seville, Madrid, Barcelona or any other airport. We plan the sailing around your landing.
What does the price include, and is it per person or per vehicle?
Everything: the ferry for the vehicle between Tarifa and Tangier Ville, the ferry tickets of every passenger, fuel, tolls and every other cost of the trip. You pay nothing at the port and nothing on the road. Per vehicle. The quote covers the whole vehicle for your group, with the ferry and the tickets of every passenger, whether you are two in a V-Class, seven in a Vito or twelve in the Sprinter.
Do we change vehicle or driver at the port?
No. The same vehicle and the same driver take you from your door in Spain to your door in Morocco and cross the Strait with you on the ferry.
How long does the journey take, and what time do we leave?
It depends on where you start. To the port of Tarifa it is about 2 h 30 min from Seville, 2 h 15 min from Málaga, 3 h 30 min from Granada and about 8 hours from Madrid. Then comes about one hour of ferry, plus boarding and the border, and the drive in Morocco to your destination. We set the pickup time with you around the sailing you prefer and, if you arrive by plane or train, around your arrival. Most travellers from Andalusia leave in the morning and reach Tangier in the afternoon.
Do you also drive from Morocco to Spain, or both ways?
Yes. The journey runs in both directions with the same vehicles and the same things included: we collect you in Morocco, cross to Tarifa on the ferry and leave you at your address in Spain. Tell us both dates and we quote the outward journey and the return together. They can be weeks apart, and the pickup and drop-off cities do not have to be the same.
Can a tour start in Spain and visit several Spanish cities before the crossing?
Yes. The vehicle that collects you in Spain stays with you for the whole tour and you finish in the Moroccan city you choose, or the other way round. The tour can spend days in several cities in Spain before the ferry, or after it on the way back, with the same vehicle and driver. Choose the Spanish cities in the custom tour form, where they come before the Moroccan ones, and we plan and quote the whole route for you. Every tour from Spain is planned and quoted for you. Hotels, meals and activities are yours to book and pay. In Morocco, a local guide is a premium extra on request.
Can we stop on the way and travel with small children?
Yes. Short breaks for a coffee, lunch or a view are part of the day: you only have to ask the driver. A longer visit on the way, in Tarifa, Tangier or Chefchaouen for example, is planned with you in advance so the sailing and the arrival time still fit. Tell us the children's ages and we fit the right child seats at no extra charge. The vehicle is yours alone, so you can stop whenever the children need a break.
What happens if the ferry does not sail because of the wind?
Strong wind in the Strait can stop the ferry between Tarifa and Tangier. That is not your fault, so we wait until it sails, at no extra cost to you.
What documents do we need to cross?
A valid passport for every passenger, children included, because you cross the border between Spain and Morocco. Visa rules depend on your nationality, so check them before you travel.
How far ahead should we book, and how do we get a price?
As early as you can, especially for July, August, Easter and the end of the year, when the ferries across the Strait are at their busiest. Cancellation is free up to 15 days before the trip. We do not publish a price list, because every route is different. Send us your pickup city, your destination, the date and the number of passengers and we reply with the price for your vehicle, everything included.
Send us your pickup city, your destination, the date and the number of passengers, from Spain to Morocco or from Morocco to Spain. We reply within a few hours with one price, ferry and tickets included.
